Maths

Some of the aims of the Maths Syllabus are:
to ensure a firm understanding of mathematical concepts and relationships and to develop confidence and competence in basic skills as well as the ability to formulate and solve problems.
to reinforce and further develop in the young person the knowledge, understanding, skills and competencies acquired at primary level;
develop the young person’s personal and social confidence, initiative and competence through a broad, well-balanced general education;
to develop an appreciation of the power and beauty of mathematics and of the manner in which it provides a useful and efficient system for the formulation and solution of problems.
prepare the young person for the requirements of further programmes of study, of employment or of life outside full-time education;
