Some of the aims of the Junior Cert CSPE Syllabus are:

To develop a greater understanding of citizenship among students.

To develop skills necessary for active participation in society through exploration of the seven key concepts.

Students undertake an Action Project which constitues 60% of the Junior Cert Examination.
